Summary

Nine leading quartets: Chiara, Brooklyn Rider, Miró, Parker, Borromeo, Lark, Jupiter, Apple Hill, and Artaria have recorded 38 selections from Thye Quartet Project (about one-fifth of the full collection). The selections are drawn from all six volumes of The Quartet Project. Each of the quartets hosted an on-line master class in which student and amateur quartets from around the world performed slections from The Quartet Project. Participating groups submitted videotaped recordings, which were then critiqued by the host quartet. As part of the master class, the host quartet recorded the music themsleves. It is those recordings-some made with audio equipment no more sophisticated than a video camera-that were the genesis of 38 Selections : A Quartet Project sampler
